The Boys and Youth Chorus of Kyiv M.V.Lysenko Specialized Secondary Musical Boarding-School at National P.I.Tchaikovsky Musical Academy of Ukraine was organized in 1948. During 50 years of its existence the Chorus has given a start of great creative life to many talented conductors who having obtained good professional training became Masters of Choir Art and headed the outstanding musical collectives of Ukraine.
The chorus composes of 55 young artists who are to be the future professional choir conductors. Former members of the chorus and current students of the Choral-Conducting Department of the National P.I.Tchaikovsky Musical Academy perform in tenor and bass parts. In the repertoire of the Chorus there are more than 100 compositions within different styles and epoch, among them the particular place is occupied by Ukrainian sacred choir and classical music, the vocal and chorus music masterpieces, treatments of folk songs and works of contemporary composers. There are concertos by: A.Vedel, D.Bortnyanskiy, M.Berezovskiy, V.Mozart cantatas, K.Stetzenko and O.Koshytzya liturgies, Requiem by G.Faurre, F.Schubert Masses, Bach cantata #28, works composed by P.Tchaikovsky, S.Rakhmaninov, M.Lysenko, M.Leontovich.
Being awarded with the 4th prize, the Chorus perfectly represented Ukrainian choir culture during International Choir Festival-Competition in Nants (France) and successfully made concert tours in Holland, Belgium, Norway, Poland, Russia, France, Hungary, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain.
From December, 26 to January, 6 of 1998 the Chorus successfully performed with concerts with Symphonic Orchestra of Kyiv State Children's Musical Theatre. Their joint programs composed of the best classical choir and symphonic pieces by D.Verdi, G.Donitzetti, J.Rossini, I.Strauss, P.Tchaikovsky are the evidence of great creative diapason and remarkable artistic potential of the collective.
The Chorus took part in the International Choir Festival in Basle (Switzerland) in May 1998 and was announced to be one of the best choral groups. September 2003 — Grand prix in the International choral contest "Artekivski zori". May 2004 — Grand prix in the International choral contest "Vesnyani dzvinochky" (“Spring Bells”) in Rivne.

In the year 2004 the CD with the particular works has been released.
